WINTER TYRES – Don’t forget that normal road tyres in the UK work best when the ambient temperature is above 7C. When the temperature is consistenly below 7C during Winter the rubber compound used just does not offer the the same level of grip that you would be used to. Therefore, as our winters become colder we recommend switching to Winter tyres when the cold weather comes. These tyres will offer much more grip in the cold icy conditions. They also tend to be slightly chunkier and cope much better with the snow that we tend to get in the Macclesfield area.
