Extra MOT Tester
We are pleased to announce that company director Sean Connelly has just
qualified as an MOT Nominated Tester. This means that Sean can now MOT test class
III & IV vehicles for the company. This addition brings the total number of MOT testers to four (Paul Connelly, John Hatton & Dave Hayward) which will help ensure adequate cover for when Dave Hayward retires at the end of August.
To achieve this qualification, Sean had to sit a theory examination before going on a two day training course at the Vehicle Inspectorate's local trainig centre. He was then able to undertake a practical test before being approved as a Nominated Tester.

Sponsorship Of A Mini French Invasion
When customer Steve Jackson approached us and said he was going to invade the French and would we sponsor him, we jumped at the chance! Seriously, though this was all for charity....it was part of the Marie Curie Challenge!
Steve and his wife Denise, plus many other enthusiasts will be driving around the Loire Valley in France aiming to visit as many Chateaux as they can, whilst also taking part in other challenges. They will be driving their beloved Mini, called 'Norman'. All the money raised will be going to the Marie Currie Nursing Service.

Approved Workshop Status Granted
We are pleased to announce that Macclesfield MOT & Service Centre became the town's first independent garage to be awarded the prestigious title of Cheshire Trading Standard's Approved Workshop. On Friday 19th July, Chairman of the County Council, Cllr Bert Grange and Trading Standards Chief Officer, Paul McGreary attended a presentation at the garage to present us with the GoldenSpanner award.
We were happy to receive the award as it shows that our commitment to customer service has paid off. The scheme aims to encourage and promote high standards in car servicing and repairs; to improve the image of the motor trade in Cheshire; to increase compliance with consumer legislation; to improve consumer confidence by promoting Approved Traders.
To be selected as an Approved Workshop, the business has had to show a history of fair trading; could demonstrate a commitment to the scheme; are willing to undergo regular audits of not only the processes in place but also the work carried out.
This required us to implement the necessary procedures to ensure all work requested is properly carried out. Completed work is monitored by checking a proportion of the jobs, recording these checks and any necessary corrective action. We will always obtain customer's permission before doing any extra work required. All parts replaced are retained for customers to inspect, and all work will be detailed on the invoice. Great value is placed on having happy customers who have been dealt with fairly and courteously. To help for when things don't go according to plan, then there's an effective customer complaints procedure to help rectify any issues. This is all complimented by working closely with the appointed Trading Standards liaison officer
For more details on this scheme, please visit the GoldenSpanner and the Cheshire Trading Standards Website.

New Laser Wheel Alignment Service
This recent investment allows us to now offer very accurate alignment of all four wheels on your vehicle using the latest laser measuring equipment.
Morevehicles are being produced with adjustable toe setting on the rear wheels as well as the fronts. Therefore, for optimum road holding and tyre wear, the rear wheel alignment needs checking. For those vehicles that do not have adjustment at the rear, it is still necessary to check the alignment as any discrepancy can be incorporated into the front toe setting to ensure that the steering wheel is straight and that the vehicle does not pull to one side.
We would recommend that the wheel alignment (tracking) is always checked when new tyres are fitted especially if irregular tyre wear is diagnosed or whenever major repair work is performed on the suspension.
Two wheel alignment costs from £20 whilst all four wheel alignment costs from £30.
